Johnathan Goddard was raised in Jacksonville, Fl. He began his football career at Lakeshore Athletic Association (Pop-Warner) and attended Ed White High School where he was a 4 year letterman and an All Conference Football player. Johnathan had a learning disability and was able to get a Scholarship to Marshall University where he excelled on the football field and classroom due to the HELP program for students with learing disabilities.

Johnathan went on to be the first player from Ed White to be drafted into the NFL where he played for the Indianapolis Colts for 3 years before his tragic death in 2008. The scholarship committee is dedicated to helping another student athlete with a learning disability to obtain a college education and to continue his legacy.
